Kings Island's first new wooden roller coaster in 17 years, Mystic Timbers, made its big debut. The out-and-back ride featured a series of swooping curves, zippy transitions, and an eerie finale within a mysterious shed. The ride was the first at the park built by world-famous wooden roller coaster manufacturer Great Coasters International, Inc.

2018
Park visitors were treated to a new dining option, the Coney Bar-B-Que. The delectable new eatery included a savory menu of meats and sides and a nostalgic theme that highlighted Kings Island rides from yesteryear.

2019
A classic returned with the Kings Mills Antique Antique Autos, the spiritual successor to the often-missed Antique Cars ride. Riders were able to get behind the wheel of a 1911 Ford Model T and drive past lush landscaping, beautiful water features, and fun references to past Kings Island rides and attractions.
