de bewoners door den vijand ten dode weggevoerd. Mede uit het ijzer, hunner ketenen werd de Staat Israλl gesmeed.

(English translation:)

On March 1, 1943 (24 Adar I, 5703 in the Hebrew Calendar), the inhabitants of this building, then known as the “Jewish Invalid”, were taken away by the enemy to their deaths. From the iron of their chains the state of Israel was forged.
