Quick Facts: Two hotels patronized by users of Crystal Palace and Victoria Park

The opening of the Crystal Palace on the Victoria Park grounds in 1860 inspired West End population growth and the creation of new businesses. Two hotels were established, one at King St. W. and Locke St., and the other at Locke St. and Peter St. They were supplied by the Crystal Palace Brewery located nearby on the south side of King St., just west of Margaret St.
