Square Boucicaut (1873)
Une centaine d'arbres, dont certains centenaires, ombragent les parterres.
Aristide Boucicaut, creator of Le Bon Marché, created the concept of "department stores", revolutionary for the time. Its principle was based on free entry and attractive prices. Its success inspired Émile Zola in Au bonheur des dames. The structure of the building, dating from 1876, was designed by Gustave Eiffel.
A hundred trees, some of which are centenarians, shade the flowerbeds.
Erected by Ville de Paris.
