Inscription. Opened by H.R.H. Prince Christian of Schleswig-Holstein, KG. High Steward of the Borough 28th July 1905.

The site of the extension of these gardens was presented to the town by Sir Francis Tress Barry BArt: M.P.

The Corporation were enabled to construct the roadway between the extension of the gardens and the river owing to the generosity of Arthur Stovell Esq and Col. Gerald Stovell
 
Erected 1905 by Borough of New Windsor.
