Inscription.  Dopo gli incendi del 64 e dell'80 d.C., il palazzo imperiale viene ad occupare la sommita del palatino. Il complesso, edificato dall'architetto rabirio per volere di domiziano, e' distinto in tre settori, la domus flavia, parte pubblica di rappresentanza del palazzo, la domus augustana, disposta su due livelli, abitazione privata della famiglia imperiale, e lo stadio, ad uso di giardino e di ippodromo.

Sala per Banchetti (coenatio iovis)
Vasta sala absidata per banchetti riscaldata e decorata con pavimento marmoreo. La sala si apriva sul peristilio con giardino e fontana. Sulle pareti laterali due ampie finestre affacciavano su due ninfei ovali.

English:
The Imperial Palace. After the fires of 64 an 80 A.D., the Imperial Palace was built on the top of the Palatine Hill. The imperial complex, built by the architect Rabirio at the behest of Domitian, featured three different parts. The Domus Flavia was the public wing, the Domus Augustiana, on two levels, was the imperial family's private residence, and the stadium was the racecourse and the palace garden.

used for banquets was heated and embellished with marble floors. It opened onto the peristyle with garden and fountain. On the side walls, two big windows opened onto two oval fountains.
