1. The Phoenix House Marker
Inscription. Built c.1805 in the classic federal style. It first served as an academy for young ladies. Purchased in 1820 by William Phoenix for use as an inn. It was converted by his daughters to a boarding house in 1857. Since 1938, the borough of Mendham has used it for municipal offices and meeting space.
 
Erected 2023 by Morris County Heritage Commission.
