1. Cisterne Arcaiche / Archaic Cisterns Marker
Inscription.  Nell'area del santuario di Victoria e Magna Mater sono visibili due cisterne circolari risalenti al VI secolo a.C., scavate nel tufo e realizzate in blocchi dello stesso materiale rivestiti internamente da intonaco. Una era coperta a ogiva, mentre l'altra, a cielo aperto, era accessibile tramite una scala. Costruite per immagazzinare l'acqua, tali cisterne divennero presto scarichi di materiale votivo. I numerosi frammenti ceramici raccolti al loro interno testimoniano l'esistenza di un culto dedicato a una divinità femminile, praticato qui ancor prima della costruzione dei due templi di Victoria e Magna Mater (III secolo a.C.).

English:
Two circular cisterns dating to the 6th century BC can be seen in the area of the sanctuary of Victoria and Magna Mater , cut into the tufa and made of blocks of the same material with an internal coating of plaster. One had an ogival roof while the other was uncovered and accessible via a staircase. Built to store water, these cisterns soon became dumps for votive materials.
