(1586–1642) who received a deed to the property. After Ruus, Ruseløkken had changing owners and for a period was a public amusement park. In 1807 it was bought by merchant Claus Tullin, son of the poet Christian B. Tullin, after whom Tullinløkka was named. In 1837, Tullin's widow sold Russeløkken to the castle commission, at that time spanning the area between the current Stortingsgata and Pilestredet. The border of the neighboring parcel in the east ran along the current Universitetsgata. The houses there were demolished and the garden was turned into a public park, Studenterlunden. In connection with the construction of the subway and Nationaltheatret station, the old enclosure building was demolished. In memory of the Ruseløkken parcel, one of Oslo Byes Vel's blue signs has been erected by the Nationaltheatret station's exit from Johanne Dybwads plass.
