1. Umbilicus Urbis / The focus of the city Marker
Inscription.  Indicato da alcune fonti anche come Mundus, era considerato il centro ideale della città (omphalos), secondo un concetto di origine greca; era anche il punto in cui il mondo dei vivi, attraverso una fenditura del terreno, era in contatto con il mondo sotterraneo. Si tratta di una costruzione rotonda in mattoni, con una piccola porta, riferibile ad un restauro di età severiana (inizio III sec. d.C.), che riutilizza elementi più antichi.

English:
Described in some sources as the Mundus, this was believed to be the symbolic centre of the city (omphalos), in accordance with a Greek concept; it was also the place where the world of the living came into contact with the underworld through a crack in the ground. It is a round brick structure with a small door, dating to restoration work in the Severan period (early 3rd century AD), reusing older materials.
