Mills Park and Pleasant Home
The interior of Pleasant Home boasts glorious art glass windows, ornate wood hand carvings, delicate mosaic floors and beautiful brass and glass light fixtures. There are nine fireplaces, five bedrooms, and many original furnishings designed by architect George W. Maher.

Docent-guided and self-guided tours of Pleasant Home are offered year-round. Visit www.pleasanthome.org for tour information.
Group tours for up to 80 guests and "Tour & Tea" for up to six guests can be made by reservation. School field trips are always welcome.

Programs and Rentals
Pleasant Home Foundation hosts a series of cultural, educational and community programming. The program schedule is updated regularly at www.pleasanthome.org.
Pleasant Home is available for private rental events such as wedding ceremonies, intimate social gatherings and corporate meetings.

Welcome to Mills Park and Pleasant Home
This public historic site (also known as the John Farson House) was once the private home of John and Mamie Farson (1897-1910) and Herbert and Leonie Mills (1910-1939). The entire estate has been owned by the Park District of Oak Park since 1939 and operated by the Pleasant Home Foundation since 1990. Mills Park (named after the second owners) features historic, natural and discovery zones for all to enjoy. Pleasant Home, designed by George W. Maher in 1897, is a National Historic Landmark.
