Inscription. This fountain was erected in memory of Theodore Roosevelt, twenty-sixth president of the United States, with a fund contributed by individuals and by the Chicago Zoological Society.

Regarding Theodore Roosevelt Fountain. The memorial was designed by sculptor Sylvia Shaw Judson, who worked pro-bono, and unveiled with a ceremony on May 14, 1954.
