Inscription. The Sunshine Park expansion was made possible through a matching grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

The entire park sat vacant for several years following a fire that destroyed the Maennle Greenhouses.

The Berwyn Park District purchased the property in 1990 to develop a park and new district maintenance facility. In 1996, the district expanded the park with the acquisition of two lots and the alleyway running through the park.

The Berwyn Park District continually strives to provide the best recreation facilities and opportunities to its' residents.

Enjoy your park!
