"On the outbreak of war he gave up an appointment in New York and came to offer his services to his country. He obtained a commission in the Black Watch. STANFORD SERVICE SKETCHES
After graduating from Stanford, he took the degree of M. D. at Johns Hopkins; but when the war started, after serving for a time as a medical officer, he entered a line regiment. He was lieutenant, in the Scottish Black Watch, a famous regiment. He fell June 14, 1916.
The Stanford War Memorial is to perpetuate the memory of the Stanford men who gave their lives during the war.
