Over 200,000 people of different races and faiths gathered to affirm their support for King's approach towards equal rights. King delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech, proclaiming his commitment to a world "that will judge by the content of [one's] character, not the color of their skin."

"Every nation must now develop an overriding loyalty to mankind as a whole in order to preserve the best in their individual societies."
