English
La Rambla de Mar is a bridge and a boardwalk over the water that is an extension of the popular Ramblas down to Espanya Wharf. Designed in 1994 by the architects Albert Viaplana and Helio Piñón (who also produced the Maremagnum building project), its modern architecture and the carefully crafted form are one of the most emblematic images of the urban transformation of this area. The walkway is equipped with a swing bridge that opens every hour to give way to the pleasure craft from the most interior wharves of the port. The Rambla de Mar is crossed every year by millions of people heading to the public spaces and to the commercial and leisure area of the Espanya Wharf.
