Regarding 17 The Bull Ring. Created in 1457 the Council of the Marches was a regional administrative body whose geographical area of responsibility generally covered all of modern Wales and the Welsh Marches of Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Cheshire and Gloucestershire. Its jurisdiction ranged from judicial matters to public health and administration.
