In memory of the unknown dead who fell in our country's service in the War for the Union A.D. 1861-65.

No name to bid us know who rests below. No word of death or birth. Only the grasses wave over a mound of earth, over a nameless grave

Erected 1889 by Maj. Robert Anderson Woman's Relief Corps, No. 44. Auxiliary to Post No. 269, G.A.R. Department of Indiana.
