Rond 1600 diende een zaal achter de zuidvleugel als kerk voor Mennonieten en voor uit Aken verdreven Wederdopers. Van 1765 tot ca. 1800 was er een lakenververij ("Verves") in gevestigd.

(English translation:)

Around 1600, a room behind the south wing served as a church for Mennonites and for the Anabaptists expelled from Aachen. From 1765 to about 1800 a cloth dyeing factory ("Verves") was located there.
