From the National Register Nomination:
The Warehouse Row Historic District is located approximately one hundred and thirty (130) feet from the Mississippi River, and seventy-five (75) feet from the floodwall. The east facades of the three buildings are located on the right-of-way of North Water Street fronting the Mississippi River. The North elevation of Building A fronts Themis Street and the sandstone foundation has been covered over with a thin layer of concrete. The northeast corner of the first floor has an arched doorway with a sandstone keystone, with a door with rectangle windows. There are two windows directly above the north-west bays on the second and third level. A large painted Coca-Cola sign is centered between the windows. The red, green and white sign reads "Delicious! Refreshing! Drink Coca Cola Relieves Fatigue, Sold Everywhere 3’/5’".Photographed by Cosmos Mariner, August 21, 20213. Filburn & Sloan Commission House (northeast elevation)This contributing building was first recorded in probate records of Samuel Sloan dated 1865. According to probate records of John Filburn, the building was whitewashed in 1882, visible in some of the historic photographs attached and in March of 1883 John Filburn replaced some of the wood floors in the building with new wood floors. Building A is one of the few remaining commercial buildings from the 19th century located within the original commercial district of Cape Girardeau that came about due to the importance of the commerce generated by the river traffic.

2. Supposedly, General Grant wintered here for a while in 1863... Excerpt:
Across the street from the great wall stands the Filburn & Sloan Commission House, where purportedly, Gen. Grant stayed for a wee bit before heading off to Vicksburg, Shiloh and the White House. This street was known as Warehouse Row, because of its easy access to the river. The Filburn & Sloan Commission House served as one of these warehouses. Check out the cool Coca-Cola mural on the former Filburn & Sloan Commission House, now referred to as the Port Cape Girardeau building. It was painted sometime around 1940 and rediscovered in 1978 after the building underwent a major sandblasting.
