James Till PhD and Ernest McCulloch MD are globally recognized as the Fathers of Stem Cell Science for their research in the 1960s at the Ontario Cancer Institute and Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto. They received Canada's Gairdner Award (1961), were inducted into the Canada Medical Hall of Fame (2004), and won the Albert Lasker Award for Basic Medical Research (2005).

James Till Ph.D. et Ernest McCulloch M.D. sont connus dans le monde entier comme les pères de la science des cellules souches, en raison des recherches qu'ils ont effectuées dans les années 1960 à l'Institut ontarien du cancer du Princess Margaret Hospital de Toronto. Ils ont reçu le prix Canada-Gairdner (1961), ont été intronisés au Temple de la renommée médicale canadienne (2004) et ont obtenu le prix Albert-Lasker pour la recherche médicale fondamentale (2005).
