Though the company was formed to build the line from Oskaloosa to Beacon to Buxton it never made it to Buxton.
Shanty where passengers would wait for the Trolley. People would come by foot or by horse. Located east of Beacon. Notice the cattle guards on either side of the road!

This is a modern trolley city car that most likely was a replacement trolley car. During the Oskaloosa Traction & Light employee labor strike of November of 1913 all of the trolleys were either burned or heavily damaged!

The Iowa Power and Light Company purchased the trolleys from Des Moines Electric & Light Company. They later became MidAmerican Energy.
This is the power plant that generated electricity for the trolleys and provided heat for downtown businesses. (Currently Cunningham, Inc. Market Street and 6th Avenue West) The ad is for hot water heaters that the company sold.
