1. Spanish Torpedo Marker
Inscription. This Spanish torpedo was taken out of the harbor of Guatanamo in 1899, by Lieutenant Commander Frank F. Fletcher, U.S. Navy and by him, presented to Oskaloosa, the city of his birth as a souvenir of the Spanish-American War. It is supposed to be of the same pattern as the one which destroyed the battleship Maine. The torpedo is in position as when loaded and placed in the water.
