Gemini Spacecraft Mockup
The Gemini Program prepared NASA and its astronauts to go to the Moon. They practiced skills and maneuvers needed in orbit and reentry. The program also helped to understand the astronauts' needs for longer space travel.
Two astronauts lived together in these small cabins for up to two weeks. They conducted their official duties, ate, slept and relieved themselves from their seats. There was little privacy between the two astronauts.
This full-scale mockup of the Gemini reentry module and adaptor module displays what the complete spacecraft would have looked like at launch. See the flown Gemini VIII spacecraft inside the museum.
