1. Louisiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Catherine "Kitty" Kimball Marker
Inscription.
Chief Justice Catherine D. Kimball began her judicial career as the first female elected to the 18th Judicial District Court. Affectionally known to many as "Kitty," Chief Justice Kimball stands as one of Louisiana's most prominent servant-leaders. As a true trailblazer for justice, she has served as an inspiration and mentor to many both within and outside of the legal profession. Chief Justice Kimball's distinguished career path is marked with many firsts. She became the first woman ever elected to Louisiana's Supreme Court, eventually becoming the first woman to hold the position of Chief Justice. While her numerous barrier-breaking accomplishments helped to transform Louisiana's justice system, her most cherished accomplishments were in the areas of juvenile justice, along with upholding the overall integrity of the judiciary.

Chief Justice "Kitty" kimball and her husband, former State Representative Clyde W. Kimball, were blessed to have been elected to serve the people of Pointe Coupée Parish and the State of Louisiana. They are the proud parents of three children, Kevin Hudson Kimball, Catherine Kimball Leggio, and Lyria Kimball O'Brien.
