Hand Cultivator
The invention of the hand cultivator, or plow, made turning the soil in spring so much easier. You pushed this model through the top soil to prepare the big vegetable garden for planting. The garden needed to feed the entire family with fresh produce. many of the vegetables were canned or preserved for the winter months when none were available.
