1. Delaware County Marker
Inscription. Muncie, the county seat, is named for Delaware Chief Munsee. Muncie is the industrial center of home canning equipment and glass food container manufacturing. Several area manufacturers opened factories as a result of the late 19th century gas boom in the area. The comic strip, "Garfield" was created by Jim Davis in Delaware County.
