La inscripció d'Heliogàbal / The Inscription of Heliogabalus
Entorn de l'arena es poden veure alguns dels setanta-nou blocs de pedra conservats, pertanyents a la inscripció commemorativa de la reforma de l'Amfiteatre feta l'any 221, sota el govern de Heliogàbal, que coronava la barana del podi.
Alguns d'aquests blocs contenen d'una a tres lletres, mltes de les quals van ser esborrades intencionadament ja que, mort l'emperador, la seva memòria va ser condemnada a l'oblit (damnatio memoriae).

La inscripción de Heliogábalo
En tomo a la arena se pueden ver algunos de los setenta y nueve bloques de piedra conservados, pertenecientes a la inscripción conmemorativa de la reforma del anfiteatro realizada en el año 221, siendo emperador Heliogabalo, que coronó la barandilla del podio.
Algunos de estos bloques contienen de una a tres letras, muchas de las cuales fueron borradas intencionadamente ya que, muerto el emperador, su memoria fue condenada al olvido (damnatio memoriae).

The Heliogabalus Inscription
In the arena area you can see some of the 79 preserved stone blocks from the inscription that crowned the podium balustrade and commemorated the rebuilding of the amphitheatre in 221 under Emperor Heliogabalus.
Some of these blocks contain between one and three letters, many of which were erased intentionally, as after Heliogabalus' death, it was decreed that his memory be erased from history (damnatio memoriae).

On peut voir, autour de l'arène quelques-uns des 79 blocs de pierre conservés, appartenant à l'inscription commémorative de la restauration de l'amphithéâtre, réalisée en 221, couronnant la balustrade du podium. Quelques-uns de ces blocs contiennent d'une à trois lettres, un grand nombre furent effacées intentionnellement, puisqu'à la mort de l'empereur Héliogabale, sa mémoire fut condamnée à l'oubli (dammatio memoriae).
