Excerpt (in translation): Carl von Clermont was the first mayor of Vaals from 1821-1827. From 1840 this was the home of cloth manufacturer Clemens August Joseph Binterim. Hence the name Binterimse Huis. Used as a Kurhaus (spa hotel) at the end of the 19th century.(Submitted on January 7, 2024.)
