The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials dedicates this brick pathway as its 2000 inaugural Legacy Project, designed to promote the spirit of community and transportation partnership. This Legacy Project commemorates the contribution of transportation to community enhancement and the heritage of the Historic National Road Corridor in Indiana. On June 9, 1998, the Historic National Road in Indiana was designated a National Scenic Byway in recognition of its cultural historic qualities. This project was made possible with the support of the following sponsors:
