This historical marker is situated to mark the site of a cluster of historical markers that commemorates a number of events in the early history of the Erie, Pennsylvania area. Among the markers are included a marker providing recognition of early Indian occupation and extinction, a series of markers describing successive forts constructed by competing white-European powers, and a marker describing the early Erie, Pennsylvania settlement.
