A detachment of the battery, under Lieut. Robert S. Walker to May 19 and after that date under Lieut. E.W. Lightfoot, served one 12-pounder howitzer in this position, stockade redan on Graveyard Road, from May 18 to the end of the defense, July 4, 1863. Casualties in battery during the defense: Killed 4. Wounded 5. Total 9, Capt. William N. Hogg and Lieut. Robert S. Walker killed.
