Regarding The Woodlief House. Excerpt from the National Register nomination:
400 S Harrison Ave. House. This two-story frame house is a well-preserved example of Craftsman-style architecture. The side-gabled dwelling with offset front attic gable is clad in plain wood siding with shingles and triangular brackets in the gables. Tapered wood posts on brick piers support the wrap-around front porch. Windows have eight-over-one sashes.

From Friends of the Page-Walker Hotel, a historical preservation organization:
This house was home for many years to Terrine Woodlief, one of Cary’s most active citizens. Her family, the Hollemans, owned the land that is now MacGregor Downs. Ms. Woodlief moved to Cary with her family when she was ten years old and returned here after her retirement from teaching. She became involved in public service as a founding member of the XYZ seniors club, a member of the Cary Women’s Club, Daughters of the American Revolution and many other civic and professional organizations. Woodlief died at age 105 in 2001.
