(July 19, 2012) North Dakota’s first Boy Scout encampment took place 100 years ago this summer in Valley City. More than 100 Boy Scouts will participate in a second encampment Friday and Saturday in Chautauqua Park.
[photo caption] This group of Boy Scouts from Casselton took a train to Kathryn and then hiked the 16 mile stretch north to Valley City back in 1912.
