More about this marker. As is the case for all of these Chicago Landmark District markers added to lampposts around Chicago in the late 1990s and early 2000s, the text on the front and back is identical, featuring a map of the district and brief text. Two identical Jackson Boulevard markers are nearby: one a block north on Adams, and another one block west on Jackson Boulevard. Across the street from this marker, on northwest corner of Laflin and Jackson, is a square bronze Chicago Landmark marker for the historic district.

Regarding Jackson Boulevard. The area was officially named a historic district in 1976, and was dedicated with an official ceremony in 1978.
