1. Peggy Williams Marker
Inscription. Peggy Williams performer, director/manager and educator with RBBB for over 48 years, became the role model for all women in the circus industry. She was the first female Clown College graduate, Class of 1970, to appear with the Greatest Show on Earth, apprenticing with the legendary Lou Jacobs. In 1982 she became Assistant Performance Director of the Blue Unit and in 1988 the Performance Director of the Gold Unit Tour in Japan. Univ. of Wisconsin graduate with a Speech Pathology major, and an educator at heart, she became Ringling’s first Manager of Education Outreach, creating circusworks.com, a virtual teaching tool incorporating circus themes into many subjects, and used by teachers across America to develop their own curricula. Peggy was inducted into the Clown Hall of Fame in 1998.
