Peter Putman
1802-1885
Peter Putman was a founding father of Liberty Township in Van Wert County.
In 1840 he was elected to the first Board of Trustees and was Justice of the Peace for 16 years.
He deeded one acre of his land to the Board, which is now Ridge-Slater Cemetery.
This plaque is placed in memory of him and all the other Putmans at rest here.
