1. North Bastion Marker
Inscription. In front of you is Fort Huger's northernmost bastion. This side of Fort Huger was the least defended because the natural terrain of Hardy's Bluff allowed for a deep ditch, high rampart wall and open fields of observation and fire. This is also the side of the fort from which an enemy attack was least expected.
