Inscription.
The Margaret McDermott Bridge is the second iconic bridge designed by renowned Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava in Dallas. This signature bridge is named after Margaret McDermott, wife of Eugene McDermott, philanthropist and one of the founders of Texas Instruments. The bridge is part of the Dallas Horseshoe Project which primarily focuses on rebuilding, expanding and improving mobility in the Mixmaster where IH-30 and IH-35 converge in downtown Dallas.

Echoing the arch shape of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge to the north and the course of the river below, the McDermott bridge's eastbound and westbound pedestrian and bicycle bridges use specific pathways to safely separate cyclists and slower moving pedestrians from traffic. The non-vehicular bridges are complemented by lighting and invite visitors to see the Trinity River and the cityscape at a slower pace.

Erected by City of Dallas.
