Gouvernestraat
The Gouvernestraat is named after the Rotterdam developer Johannes Gouverne, 1807-1865. Here he had the first housing development built. Gouvernestraat was developed in the then independent municipality of Delfshaven prior its annexation by the city of Rotterdam in 1886. The street had been situated up against Rotterdam territory in order make use of the amenities of the larger city.
