Inscription. This one-story cottage was built by the Moore Timber Co. at Bay Harbor about 1911 and was the residence of two of Bay County's early physicians, Dr. James C. Jones (1912 - 1919) and Dr. James Montgomery Nixon (1919 - 1925). Both were employed by the Moore Timber Co. and were deeply involved in the early years of Bay County. Dr. Jones was the Founding President of the Bay County Medical Society (1913). Dr. J. M. Nixon was also a Founding Member of the Bay County Medical Society and President in 1914. Both were Founders of the Bay County Red Cross Chapter (1915). Dr. Nixon returned from Medical Corps service during WWI in 1919 to take up practice at Bay Harbor. The J. E. Joyner family moved this house from Bay Harbor to this site in 1949. It has been restored since 1989 and well represents homes typical of the early mill years of Bay Harbor.
