Inscription.
These small motors enabled trains of cars to be hauled to the dump points underground together instead of being pulled or pushed one at a time by a miner. The batteries were lead/acid and required charging up every day at underground charging stations. The locomotives were made in such a way that some of them "folded" so that they could be moved from level to level in the small shafts within the mine to the areas where the work was required.
