Miami
Distinguished Professor at the University of Miami School of Medicine, and Distinguished Medical Research Scientist and Chief of Endocrine, Polypeptide and Cancer Institute at the Miami Veterans Affairs Medical Center, for his discovery of hypothalamic hormones and subsequent applications of their analogues to treatment of cancer and other diseases. Recipient of the 1977 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
