of the Canandaigua Chamber of Commerce. Earl enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He always loved Canandaigua and continued to voice his concerns, to preserve the beauty of the landscape and the lake, that many of us cherish. The City Pier was another of Earl's accomplishments. A state agency attempted to take over the jurisdiction of the pier, which included at the time, the 86 boathouses on it and possibly the rights to demolish them. Earl went up against the state and as a result, the boathouses remain in the jurisdiction of the city and received a historic preservation designation. Friends may call Monday, from 4-7 pm, at Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., 47 N. Main St., Canandaigua. His funeral service will be held Tuesday, at 11 am, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canandaigua. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ontario Co. Historical Society, 55 N. Main St., Canandaigua, NY 14424, Salvation Army, P.O. Box 510, Canandaigua, NY 14424, Canandaigua Fire Department, 335 S. Main St., Canandaigua, NY 14424 or Hopewell Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 932, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
