1. Original Butler School Merry-Go-Round Marker
Inscription. This merry-go-round is from Butler School's original playground that was located about 100 yards to the northeast of the school. The merry-go-round saw service from 1921 until 1961 when a new Butler School was built.

School Board member Joseph Nessel sold the merry-go-round for a $1.00 to the Truedson family who relocated it to their home on Canterberry Lane and York Road. It remained at this site until the Truedson family donated it to the Oak Brook Park District in 2003. At that time the merry-go-round was fully renovated by Park District staff. In donating the merry-go-round, Ray and Lee Truedson and family are proud that generations of children have enjoyed playing on it and that future generations will as well.
