1. Chatfield Hall Marker
Inscription. Chatfield Hall is the oldest structure on campus. Built in 1831 to house St. Mary's Seminary of the West, the seminary of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, it was originally situated on what is now the lawn to the west of St. Angela Hall. The building was rebuilt on the current site in the late 19th century. It has served as a residence for workers on the Ursuline farm, a dormitory for boarding school students, a classroom building for college students, and the home of many social service outreach programs serving the larger community. Today it is used for faculty and staff offices.
