This tablet commemorates the centennial of the Honor Men, written in 1903 by James Hay, Jr. a student in the university that year.

"Remembering the Purple Shadows on the lawn, the majesty of the colonades, and the dream of your youth, you may say in reverence and thankfulness: 'I have worn the honors of honor. I graduated from Virginia'"
