1. Jermyn Memorial Garden Circles of Life Marker
Inscription.

The Memorial Garden is comprised of Circles of Life with remembrance bricks encircled by living memorial plants and trees, and engraved with historic and civic-minded sentiments for restents, former residents, and friends of Jermyn who have made the history of Jermyn live on for future generations.

The First Aid Memorial Life Circle, with the First Aid monument remembering the 25 men who organized first aid in America in 1899, is surrounded by bricks honoring miners and families.

The Veterans Memorial Life Circle, with the Veterans monument, was erected by the William J. Griffith American Legion Post #465, and is dedicated to Jermyn's fallen brave men. Bricks honoring servicemen and women and families encircle it.

The Civic Memorial Life Circle, with the Walk Way monument honoring John Jermyn, founder and first mayor, 1870, contains a borough time capsule entombed below, placed there by the Shade Tree Commission. Bricks dedicated to civic volunteers, church congregations, merchants, and families border it.

1937, with Raymond J. Truscott as principal. It later became Lakeland Jointure High School and also served as a Lakeland elementary school. The school was turned over to the community in 1980. The black iron fence, front edging of the Garden, is a remnant of the antique 1937 school property fence.

The Jermyn Shade Tree Commission, in partnership with the borough council, American Legion, First Aid Centennial Committee, and the residents of Jermyn, created and landscaped a serene historic memorial garden bearing witness to the pride, principles, and progression of the Jermyn community.

Erected 2003 by Jermyn Shade Tree Commission, Jermyn Borough Council, American Legion, First Aid Centennial Committee, and the Residents of Jermyn.
