Independent Fire Company No. 1
10, 1910. Its first fire hall was located at 6th
and Canal Streets. In 1911 a Ladies Auxiliary
was formed. On September 25, 1915, the Fire Co
moved into the new Independent Borough Hall
on the southeast corner of 7th and Maple Streets.

In May 1978 the Fire Company dedicated its
new Fire House at 712 Maple Street. This
addition was part of the former Harrison
School Building.
