1. Heirloom Vegetable Garden Marker
Inscription. By the 1890s, although people could purchase produce at local markets, many grew their own fruits, vegetables and herbs. This kitchen garden features open-pollinated vegetables that were popular during the late 1890s. Corn and pumpkins were usually grown on larger outlying acreage.
